Chandler, Indiana – March 25, 2024 – Electronics Research, Inc. will introduce an innovative new FM bandpass filter at the NAB Show in Las Vegas this April. The 940 Series FM Bandpass Filter is a new compact FM bandpass filter from ERI with an innovative form factor and construction to provide the smallest available footprint FM bandpass filter capable of handling 5 kW average power. The filter is a four-section single cabinet design with a footprint less than 18 by 21 inches (497 by 523 millimeters). The filter includes the same field-proven Invar and bellows temperature compensation used in all models of ERI’s medium and high-power FM filter products. The filter contains a cross-coupling standard for additional isolation in combiner systems with closely spaced frequencies.
The filter is rated to handle up to 3 kW (depending on tuning) at the output after insertion losses, convection cooled, and the rating is increased to 5 kW with a forced air cooling fan. The filter includes 1-5/8-inch unflanged input and output connections, and the EIA flanged version is optionally available. The filter can be used for intermodulation product suppression or configured as an FM channel combiner. A constant impedance configuration, which is also very compact, is also available.

Chandler, Indiana – March 6, 2023 – Electronics Research will show new motorized coaxial RF switches designed for VHF and UHF applications. ERI will also offer a new motorized switch controller. The four models include the 1-5/8-inch Model CS203C switch, the Model CS350C for 3-1/8-inch requirements, the 4-1/16-inch Model CS400C, and the Model CS600C for 6-1/8-inch applications. These coaxial switches are broadband and suitable for applications from 500 kHz to 608 MHz and do not need to be tuned to a specific channel. The coaxial port configuration is a coplanar design that minimizes the elbows required in most installation configurations. The control interface and interlock connections are made with CAT5 or CAT6 cables and RJ45 connectors.

Las Vegas, Nevada – April 26, 2022 – Electronics Research, Inc. has promoted Peggy Hunt to the position of Vice President, US Sales. She is responsible for leading and managing ERI’s radio and television sales teams for all ERI products and services in the United States. Ms. Hunt has twenty-six (26) years of experience, holding most of which have been in Customer Service, Project Management, and, most recently, as Radio Accounts Manager for the Western US.
Chandler, Indiana – April 20, 2022 – Electronics Research, Inc. has three new hybrid couplers for high-band VHF television applications. ERI’s HY0245, HY246, and HY247 high band VHF hybrid couplers are plate-coupled quadrature designs that provide 3.0-dB, 3.98-dB, and 4.77-dB coupling levels, respectively. The hybrids are broadband from 174 to 240 MHz. The hybrid is most often used as a power combiner and also can be used as a power divider. All standard models are “cross-over” designs with the inputs, when used as a combiner, are on one side of the hybrid and the load port and combined output are on the opposite side. The input port opposite the combined output lags the other input by 90 degrees. The hybrid is available with any combination of 1-5/8-inch, 3-1/8-inch, 4-1/16-inch, and 6-1/8-inch flanged fixed male ports (order flange hardware separately). They are lightweight aluminum and compact with only 15.80-inches (401-mm) flange to flange spacing. Power handling is dependent on flange selection.
Chandler, Indiana – April 19, 2022 – Electronics Research, Inc. will introduce two improved UHF Television Bandpass Filters at NABSHOW2022. The new UF5000A and UF22000 UHF bandpass filters are rated to handle up to 5 kW and 22 kW average power, respectively. They both feature a patent-pending targeted forced air-cooling system that utilizes distributed finned heat sinks with individual cooling fans to target those locations that generate the most heat, based on laboratory testing. The system provides better heat removal using lower volumes of targeted airflow and has the benefits of less ambient noise and lower power consumption than traditional forced air-cooling methods.

Chandler, Indiana – April 18, 2022 – Electronics Research, Inc. will introduce two improved 3 dB FM Hybrid models at NABSHOW2022. The HY0241 and HY0244 are now available with a broader array of port sizes, have improved power handling, and minimal variation in coupling ratio across the FM band.
Chandler, Indiana – April 15, 2022 – Electronics Research, Inc. has added a new family of precision directional couplers to its product line. The coaxial directional couplers are available for 1-5/8-inch, 3-1/8-inch, 4-1/16-inch, and 6-1/8-inch coaxial transmission lines with one, two, three, or four sampling ports. The standard sampling port connections are Type N or SMA. The line sections are constructed to securely position and hold the inner conductor to ensure the coupler remains stable and calibrated through shipment and installation. These directional couplers are constructed with rugged aluminum outer conductors and are very compact, allowing them to be mounted in congested locations. The directional couplers have an operating frequency range from 54 MHz to 800 MHz and can be set for coupling levels from -30 dB to -70 dB with directivity of 30 dB or better. ERI also manufactures adjustable coaxial directional couplers and produces waveguide directional couplers for all line sizes used for terrestrial broadcast applications.
Chandler, Indiana – April 14, 2022 – Electronics Research, Inc. has added circularly and elliptically polarized models to its ALV Series High Band VHF Television Antenna product family. These are high band VHF television antennas built for any single RF channel from 7 through 13 (174 to 216 MHz). They are lightweight side-mounted antennas primarily designed for use as auxiliary antennas. All models include a fiberglass slot cover to protect the antenna from rain, snow, and ice. All models of ALV Series VHF television antennas are shipped with 36-inch (914 mm) standoff brackets for mounting on poles or tower legs from 1.5-inches (35 mm) to 7.5-inches (191 mm) OD. As optional items, standoff support pipes, face mount brackets, and mounts for larger diameter poles are available from ERI. Contact ERI for a proposal for these requirements.
